Final Posting - We Completed the Marathon!

This blog was a noble idea, but I never really maintained it, especially as I got into the the later months of training.

I will close this blog out by including an e-mail message I sent to my friends and family:

Friends and Family,

We completed the Honolulu Marathon on Sunday. It was a glorious day, with rainstorms and morning sunshine. Starting a run with over 27,000 participants at 5 AM in the morning was a surreal experience.

It was really great to run with my fellow AIDS Marathon participants (there were over 150 of us). All of us trained so hard to reach this common goal. I was also inspired by the level of human determination I witnessed on Sunday, including people in wheel chairs and a man with only one leg, using crutches.

My official time was 5 hours, 12 minutes and 43 seconds, which I am more than happy with. The last couple of miles were very difficult.

Thank you to everyone who supported me! It was a truly amazing experience. And our team raised a lot of money to support APLA.
